The Polish distillery Podlaska Wytwórnia Wódek “Polmos” S.A., which produces the Chopin Vodka brand, have collaborated with Prost-Key Packaging and Metsä Board to produce a board pack for its organic vodka. Using MetsäBoard Natural WKL Bright white kraftliner, Prost-key and Metsä Board have created an all-white litho-laminated construction that due to locking flaps requires no adhesive. The pack has a feature that allows the pack to be opened and closed numerous times while locking the bottle in place. Along with low migration inks and water-based varnish, this means that the packaging is visually striking while also being easy to recycle. The distillery’s aim was that the packaging would reflect the organic nature and purity of the vodka. The design work and testing was carried out at Metsä Board’s Excellence Centre in Äänekoski, central Finland.
Disruptive secondary packaging design innovations like this have a place across Food, Beverage, and sectors.
